The Templars - Reconquista Volume I (LP)

The Templars - Reconquista Volume I (LP)

Description:

The Templars are a foundational New York Oi! punk band formed in 1991, known for their gritty, unapologetic sound and DIY ethos. Reconquista Volume I, released on vinyl for the first time on May 1, 2020, compiles rare singles and otherwise hard-to-find tracks from 1993 to 1998, reflecting the raw, unfiltered energy that defined their early years. The listening experience is stripped-down yet powerful, with aggressive vocals, driving guitars, and high-impact rhythms that feel both immediate and visceral.

Standout cuts such as “Victim,” “War Heroes,” and “Night Of The Seagulls” exemplify the band’s knack for concise, anthemic songwriting, blending sharp melodic hooks with the urgency of street-level punk. The six-minute centerpiece “No Escape” offers a rare moment of extended intensity among mostly tight, fast-paced songs. These tracks showcase the Templars’ lean arrangements, gruff vocal delivery, and unpolished production that underscore their authentic punk credibility.

A great addition for fans of Cock Sparrer, The Business, The 4‑Skins, Sham 69
