About Side of the North Records

Founded in 2014 by two friends with a shared passion for music and underground culture, Side of the North began as a small independent clothing brand and music distribution company rooted in the DIY spirit that defines so many underground scenes. What started as a way to support the bands, artists, and communities we loved quickly grew into something much bigger.

Over the years, we've worked with independent bands, labels, and artists across punk, hardcore, metal, ska, indie, alternative, and countless other underground genres. Through music distribution, merchandise, and community involvement, we remained focused on one goal: helping connect people with the music that matters to them.

As our passion for collecting records and preserving physical media continued to grow, so did the vision for Side of the North. What began as a clothing and distribution company gradually evolved into a dedicated record store serving collectors and music fans around the world.

Today, Side of the North Records specializes in vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, and music-related merchandise, with a focus on underground music of all kinds. While our roots remain firmly planted in punk and hardcore, we proudly carry releases spanning metal, emo, post-hardcore, indie rock, alternative, ska, folk, electronic, experimental, and beyond.
