Shipping Policy
At Side of the North Records, we take pride in carefully packing every order to help ensure it arrives safely. Once an order leaves our facility, shipping carriers are responsible for handling and delivery.
Delivery Protection
We offer optional shipping protection at checkout for added peace of mind. If shipping protection is not selected, Side of the North Records cannot guarantee replacements or refunds for packages that are lost, stolen, or damaged during transit. By declining shipping protection, the customer accepts responsibility for any transit-related issues after the package has shipped.
Vinyl Records
Due to the nature of vinyl manufacturing and shipping, minor cosmetic imperfections may occasionally occur. This can include slight corner dings, seam splits, small creases, minor jacket wear, color variations, or other cosmetic differences that do not affect playback quality.
Because these issues are considered cosmetic and common within the vinyl industry, replacements or refunds will not be issued for cosmetic-only damage that does not impact the functionality or sound quality of the record itself.
CD & Cassette Cases
CD jewel cases and cassette cases are fragile and may crack or break during transit, even when packaged carefully. All products are inspected before shipment and leave our facility in new condition. We cannot offer replacements or refunds for cracked or damaged CD or cassette cases caused during shipping.
Shipping Insurance
The following shipping methods may include limited carrier insurance coverage:
United States
- UPS — Insured up to carrier limits
- USPS Priority Mail — Insured up to carrier limits
- USPS Ground Advantage — Insured up to carrier limits
- USPS Media Mail — Typically not insured
International
- USPS First Class International — Typically not insured
- USPS Priority International — Limited insurance may apply depending on destination
Carrier insurance claims are handled directly through the shipping provider and may require additional processing time.
Customs & Import Fees
International orders may be subject to customs duties, taxes, VAT fees, or import charges depending on the destination country. These fees are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in our product or shipping prices.
Side of the North Records is not responsible for customs delays, additional import fees, refused shipments, or packages destroyed due to unpaid customs charges. Shipping costs are non-refundable for refused international packages.
Freight Forwarding
We do not ship orders to freight forwarding companies or forwarding warehouse addresses. Orders placed using freight forwarding addresses may be canceled and refunded at our discretion.
Returned Packages / Return to Sender
If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address, failed delivery attempt, refusal, or unclaimed shipment, the original shipping charges are non-refundable.
If you would like your package reshipped, additional shipping charges will apply. If you choose not to have the order reshipped, a refund will be issued for the item(s) only once the package is returned to us. Original shipping costs will not be refunded.
