Operation Ivy – Energy
Released in 1989, “Energy” is one of the most influential punk albums ever recorded and the only full-length studio album from Berkeley legends Operation Ivy. Blending hardcore punk urgency with ska rhythms, socially conscious lyrics, and infectious melodies, the album helped lay the foundation for the ska-punk explosion of the 1990s. Despite the band's short existence, “Energy” remains a landmark release whose influence can still be heard across punk, ska, and alternative music.
