Originally released in 1985, Project: Mersh is the final EP from San Pedro trailblazers Minutemen and the last release issued before the tragic death of guitarist and vocalist D. Boon later that year. The six-song EP finds the band continuing to blur the lines between punk, funk, jazz, and alternative rock while experimenting with a slightly more accessible sound. Featuring an inspired cover of Steppenwolf's "Hey Lawdy Mama," Project: Mersh serves as both a fitting finale to one of the most innovative bands of the American underground and an essential chapter in the Minutemen's legendary catalog.
