H2O - Don’t Forget Your Roots (CD)

Description:

H2O’s 2011 release *Don’t Forget Your Roots* is a spirited tribute from the New York City hardcore stalwarts, delivered as a lively studio album of covers spotlighting their deepest influences. Recorded in early 2011 and issued by Bridge Nine Records in mid-November, the album channels the band’s melodic hardcore energy into renditions of punk classics.

The track list spans iconic anthems from Bad Brains’ “Attitude” to Warzone’s “Don’t Forget the Struggle, Don’t Forget the Streets” all performed with H2O’s signature punch and clarity. Standout moments include the brisk, charged take on “Attitude,” the sing-along nearing pop-punk sheen of “Someday I Suppose,” and the heartfelt homage in “Friends Like You,” each reflecting both respect for the originals and H2O’s cohesive execution.

A great addition for fans of Minor Threat, Agnostic Front, Sick of It All, Madball, Gorilla Biscuits
