Embrace – Embrace
Formed in 1985 by three former members of Faith alongside Ian MacKaye following the breakup of Minor Threat, Embrace became one of the pioneering bands of Washington, D.C.'s Revolution Summer movement. During their brief ten-month existence, the band played only in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, but their emotionally charged songwriting and melodic approach helped redefine hardcore punk and lay the foundation for what would later become known as emo. Recorded shortly before the band's breakup in 1986, Embrace remains a landmark release in the evolution of punk and independent music.
