DRAIN - CALIFORNIA CURSED (CD)

DRAIN - CALIFORNIA CURSED (CD)

Description:

Drain’s debut full-length album captures the ferocious energy of Santa Cruz’s hardcore scene and propels it into the crossover‑thrash realm with crisp, aggressive production and razor‑sharp riffing. Released on Revelation Records in spring 2020, the album channels both the raw grit of West Coast punk and the churning momentum of ’80s thrash, resulting in a concise yet intensely lived-in statement.

Standout tracks like “Feel the Pressure” and “The Process of Weeding Out” pulsate with head‑banging grooves and swaggering aggression, while the instrumental interlude “Hollister Daydreamer” offers ominous, surf‑tinged respite amid the onslaught. Guest vocals from producer Taylor Young on “Hyper Vigilance” add a fresh dimension to the band’s dynamic attack, reinforcing the record’s balance of speed, melody, and attitude.

A great addition for fans of Power Trip, Gulch, Sunami, and Madball
