Bold – Speak Out (Tape)

Bold – Speak Out (Tape)

Description:

Bold’s debut full-length, originally issued in 1988 on Revelation Records, captures the raw energy of the youth crew straight‑edge hardcore scene emerging from New York’s suburbs. Originally known as Crippled Youth, the band rebranded to Bold with a sharper, more purposeful intensity that defines Speak Out’s unrelenting, fast‑paced sound. The recording maintains a rugged, earnest edge, propelled by urgent vocals and driving rhythms true to its era.

Tracks like “Nailed To The X,” “Clear,” and “Still Strong” stand out for their anthemic drive and emotionally direct delivery. “Talk Is Cheap” opens the album with no-nonsense aggression, while “Now Or Never” and “Change Within” offer brief bursts of melodic urgency beneath the hardcore veneer. Recorded in 1987 at Electric Reels Studio, the album reflects the raw production values and community-driven spirit of the late‑’80s hardcore scene.

A great addition for fans of Minor Threat, Agnostic Front, Sick of It All, Madball, Gorilla Biscuits, Terror.
