Visions Beyond The Ape Cave brings together veterans of the Northern California hardcore scene for a dark, frantic blast of modern hardcore punk. Birdlegs features Jade Puget of AFI on guitar, Eric Ozenne of The Nerve Agents on vocals, Gary Gutfeld of Corduroy on drums, and Ryan Doria of Overexposure on bass. Puget and Ozenne previously played together in Redemption 87, giving the record a direct connection to the late-'90s Bay Area hardcore scene.

The album combines aggressive rhythms, chaotic energy, and the darker guitar style associated with AFI's Black Sails In The Sunset era. This second pressing is limited to 500 copies on Blue Marble vinyl and was released by Revelation Records as REV216B-1.
