Released in 2008, Dirt Hearts is the first official release from Southern California punk/hardcore band Vultures United. Recorded, mixed, and mastered with Paul Miner at Buzzbomb Sound Labs in Orange, California, the EP delivers a short, aggressive burst of hardcore punk influenced by bands like Black Flag and Minor Threat while incorporating the band's own frantic and abrasive style.

The standard CD contains six tracks and features Dave Hidalgo Jr. on drums, who was also playing with Suicidal Tendencies and Bullet Treatment at the time. A later deluxe CD added two additional songs, but those are not included on the standard six-track CD edition.
