THE VANDALS - Look What I Almost Stepped In... (CD)

Promotional Copy

The Vandals deliver a high-energy, witty set with Look What I Almost Stepped In..., released August 29, 2000 on Nitro Records. Drawing on their Orange County roots, the album blends tight pop-punk melodies with satirically sharp humor and polished production, marking their final studio release under Nitro before forming their own label. The sound is brisk, melodic, and tongue-in-cheek, characteristic of the band's irreverent style.

Standouts include the opening track “Behind the Music,” a fast-paced send-up of the music industry, the catchy and co-written “Jackass,” and the absurdly humorous closing track “Fourteen,” featuring guest vocals from Jack Black and Kyle Gass. Throughout the record, songs like “Sorry, Mom and Dad” and “San Berdu” showcase clever lyrical perspectives set to energetic, melodic punk arrangements all delivered with a crisp, clean sonic polish.
