STRAIGHT AHEAD - Straight Ahead (TAPE)

STRAIGHT AHEAD - Straight Ahead (TAPE)

Description:

Straight Ahead was a short-lived but influential New York hardcore punk band formed in early 1986, featuring members who later became stalwarts of Youth of Today, Sick of It All, and Agnostic Front. This self-titled 2026 cassette compiles their first official reissue drawn from the reviled “End the Warzone” compilation and the raw, intense “Breakaway” EP, delivering aggressive, fast-paced hardcore with crossover thrash undertones that encapsulate the fury of the mid‑’80s NYHC scene.

The tape flows with standout tracks such as “Spirit Of Youth,” “Straight Ahead (Think Right),” and “Breakaway,” all driven by rapid-fire riffs, urgent vocals, and sudden slamming breakdowns. The inclusion of previously unreleased studio cuts (“Nothing Song,” “Want Authority,” “Take Action”) and live performances from CBGB (Nov. 23, 1986) gives a dynamic and historical dimension to the release.

A great addition for fans of Minor Threat, Agnostic Front, Sick of It All, Gorilla Biscuits
