Black Flag – Family Man
Released in 1984, “Family Man” is one of the most unconventional and experimental releases in Black Flag's catalog. Split between Henry Rollins' intense spoken-word performances on the first side and a series of ambitious instrumental compositions on the second, the album showcased the band's willingness to push far beyond the boundaries of hardcore punk. It also marked the first Black Flag album to feature bassist Kira Roessler, whose arrival helped usher in a new era of the band's evolving sound.
