SSD – Get It Away (Tape)

SSD – Get It Away (Tape)

Description:

SSD emerged from Boston’s hardcore punk scene in the early 1980s, delivering a ferocious burst of energy with Get It Away. Originally issued as an EP in 1983, this tape format captures the raw, urgent sound that helped define the band’s legacy as straight-edge forefathers, with razor-sharp guitar riffs, rapid-fire rhythms, and uncompromising intensity.

Standout tracks include the opening salvo “Glue,” a blistering two-minute assault that crackles with distortion, the title track “Get It Away,” a taut anthem of defiance, and the raucous cover of the Buzzcocks’ “No Reply,” which showcases SSD’s ability to reframe punk classics through a hardcore lens. The addition of second guitarist Francois Levesque enhances the sound with layered aggression, and the recording quality courtesy of Downtown Studios marks a step up in clarity and force from their debut.

A great addition for fans of Minor Threat, Agnostic Front, Sick of It All, Gorilla Biscuits.
