Originally released in 1982 on the cassette-only ROIR label, Bad Brains is the explosive self-titled debut from Washington, D.C. legends Bad Brains and one of the most influential hardcore punk albums ever recorded. Often referred to by fans as "The Yellow Tape," the album blends blistering hardcore with reggae, showcasing the band's unmatched speed, technical musicianship, and positive spiritual message. Although earlier recordings existed, this was the band's first full-length release and helped redefine what hardcore punk could be. This remastered edition, released on the band's own Bad Brains Records imprint in partnership with Org Music, restores the original recordings with newly remastered audio and includes the original liner notes by Ira Kaplan of Yo La Tengo.
