The L.A.M.F. Demo Sessions captures the raw power of Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers with recordings tied to one of punk rock's most legendary—and notoriously troubled—albums. Featuring former New York Dolls members Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan alongside Walter Lure and Billy Rath, the Heartbreakers brought New York street attitude and stripped-down rock 'n' roll to the emerging punk scene.

The original L.A.M.F. album was released in 1977 but became infamous for its muddy sound, later attributed to a mastering problem. Decades later, a remarkably clear copy master dated July 12, 1977, was discovered among the archives of Track Records director and L.A.M.F. co-producer Daniel Secunda. The tapes revealed the recordings without the infamous "mud," allowing the band's explosive sound to finally be heard with the clarity originally intended.
