Common Rider – This Is Unity Music – CD

Released in 2002 on Hopeless Records, This Is Unity Music is the second and final full-length album from Common Rider, the band formed by former Operation Ivy vocalist Jesse Michaels with Mass Giorgini and Dan Lumley. The record builds on the melodic punk, ska, and reggae foundation of Last Wave Rockers while delivering a more polished and energetic sound.

The album also features contributions from a wide circle of punk musicians, including Matt Skiba and Dan Andriano of Alkaline Trio and Brendan Kelly and Chris McCaughan of The Lawrence Arms. Songs like “Firewall,” “Small Pebble,” “Blackbirds Vs. Crows,” and “Long Shot” showcase Common Rider’s distinctive combination of thoughtful songwriting, punk energy, and Jamaican-influenced rhythms.
