Released in 2007 through Tooth & Nail/Virgin, Southern Weather is the debut album from The Almost, the project led by Underoath drummer and vocalist Aaron Gillespie. Gillespie handled nearly all of the instrumentation on the record, creating a melodic mix of alternative rock, emo, pop-punk, and post-hardcore that offered a noticeably different direction from Underoath.

The album features guest appearances from Jeremy Enigk of Sunny Day Real Estate and Kenny Vasoli of The Starting Line, with standout songs including "Say This Sooner," "Dirty And Left Out," "Southern Weather," and "Amazing Because It Is."
