A Static Lullaby - Faso Latido (CD)
Description:
A Static Lullaby’s sophomore studio album, released by Columbia on April 5 2005, finds the Orange County post-hardcore outfit leaning into a grander, more melodic sound than their debut. Produced by Lou Giordano, the record blends sweeping atmospherics with aggressive hardcore undercurrents over its 13 tracks. Its overall tone balances arena-ready guitar work and cleaner vocal dynamics with occasional bursts of raw screaming, reflecting the band’s major-label ambitions at the time.
Standout tracks include “Radio Flyer’s Last Journey,” which moves through chugging riffs, death‑metal howls, and dramatic shifts in momentum; “Half Man, Half Shark; Equals One Complete Gentleman,” with its U2‑inspired bass-driven drama; and the anthemic single “Stand Up,” which contrasts sing-along choruses with screamed verses. The songwriting showcases the band trying to fuse melodic ambition with foundational post-hardcore urgency.
A great addition for fans of Thursday, Thrice, Glassjaw, Alexisonfire, At the Drive‑In, Saosin.
